Story Of Artist Pearl Perera

Pearl Perera narrates his story here;

I wouldn't refer to myself as an artist because I think I am more than that. I travelled through the years of my life on a relatively lengthy yet exciting adventure. I was born in 1973 in Aluthgama, a beach town in the Kalutara District of Sri Lanka's Western Province. I went to Aluthgama Vidyalaya College, which was a school. Then, in the Sarasavi Music Academy, a former music teaching facility, I continued to develop my craft, guided by my father.

In actuality, I come from a creative generation. Both my grandfather
Lanti Perera and my father, Lionel Perera, enjoyed art and music. Additionally, they taught thousands of children in Sri Lanka's south about their knowledge. They were both experts in the fields of music and painting. My father and grandparents invested a lot of time and effort into Sri Lankan traditional art. by making wall paintings for temples and preserving historical art forms.

In addition to my focus on the tremendous natural arts, I also strongly preferred traditional Sri Lankan classical music, which, in my experience, has a calming effect on the spirit. I can play the piano, the Indian harmonium, and various other instruments. You would never guess that I also Played in family bands and on different Sri Lankan tv channels at a very young age. I am starting a band this year in Germany with my family members, who are following the Sri Lankan oriental music. The name of the Band is " Sarasavi by Pearl Perera".

Enough about music; let's concentrate on my artistic side, as that is where I gravitated. Around the time I was twelve, I developed a love for sketching and began assisting my father with all of his paintings. Most of my artwork is centred on my interests in nature, animals, and portraiture. My preferred medium for creating art was acrylic paint, and working with them was tricky. So I made the long journey to Italy, where I resided and worked for almost thirteen years, gaining experience by participating in shows like "Arte sotto I Portici." A memorable experience it was.

Flamingos at Breakfast

My two most famous photos were "Flamingos at Breakfast," which highlighted nature's gift of wildlife behaving naturally amid an explosion of vibrant colours in a tropical pond's corner.

"The Neptune of Bologna City" was my other. The distinctive artwork of Bologna City was produced decades ago by Italian artists. It was given life on the canvas or art frame of my painting.

My wife and I live in Germany now and are blessed with two lovely children. My son is 19 years old, and my daughter is 25. They both work in the same field, which is music and fine arts. I am also an active member of the 'Neunburger Kunstverein Unverdoben'. The limitless splendour of Sri Lanka's tropical environment has encouraged me to incorporate it into my artwork more and more. The colour of the natural world, the sound, and the harmony of the birds and animals offer Sri Lankan traditional music—which is what I specialize in—a unique quality. I wanted to give the world a smoothness and spirit of a fusion of music and art.
